Privacy Policy

Your privacy is very important to us. This notice explains what information we may collect about you, what uses we may make of it, and what precautions we take against unauthorized access or use of your information.

What Information We Collect

When you register for online Continuing Medical Education ("CME") or Continuing Education ("CE") activities, or live events through our Web site, or claim CME or CE credit, we collect certain personally identifiable information from you. The following personal information may be collected: Your name, mailing address, email address, telephone and fax numbers, and your credentials (to assist us in providing the correct certificates). Additionally, you may be asked for an ID number or password.

How the Information is Used

AAF-MED is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians; by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) to provide CE credits to pharmacists; and is an approved provider of continuing education for nurses by the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses (WVBRN), Provider Number WV2003-0438RN.

As an ACCME, ACPE, and WVBRN-accredited entity, we are required periodically to submit aggregated data about CME participants and the CME activities we certify. We may also provide personally identifiable information to other accredited CME/CE providers who certify CME/CE activities posted on AAF-MED’s website, as required by the ACCME and other accrediting bodies. This data may include personally identifiable information about you and the credits issued to you, for the purpose of issuing certificates and maintaining records that you can request from the accredited provider for up to 6 years.

Commercial supporters of CME/CE activities on our Web site will never receive any personal information you provide. They may receive only reports in the form of aggregated data, either about CME/CE activities that are relevant to their interests or to the courses they support. For example, we may tell a supporter what percentage of our registered users resides in a particular geographical area.

We do not sell, lease, or make available to any other party any personal information you provide us or that resides in our database. We do create aggregate reports containing non-identifiable information, about the activities posted on our site.

AAF-MED staff who have internal access to files containing personally identifiable information in order to respond to your questions or comments, create reports, or create needs assessments from evaluations received are not allowed to divulge any personal information to any third party as a condition of their employment.
