System Requirements
- Macromedia Flash plugin, version 7 or later
- Your web browser must be configured to accept cookies
- For Windows Operating Systems (98/2000/NT/XP), a 500 MHz or faster CPU is recommended
- For Macintosh Operating Systems (9.2 or later), a 350 MHz or faster CPU is recommended
- Monitor resolution of 800 x 600 or higher, set to millions of colors
- A sound card and speakers
We also recommend that you:
- Make sure that your speakers are on and the volume is up.
- Make sure to close all applications running on your computer including word processing, spreadsheets and email applications.
- Close your desktop CD player or MP3 Audio Player, i.e.; if you have been listening to music on your computer through your CD-ROM drive, or if you opened up an MP3 Player such as WinAmp, close these now.
Using the Player
The Presentation will begin automatically as soon as it has loaded into the player. You can control the following features:
- Rewind, Previous, Play/Pause, Next player buttons function in the same way as all playback buttons. When skipping forward or backward through the presentation, you may experience slight delays while the presentation buffers and realigns to the new start position.
- Magnify You can watch the presentation full frame by clicking anywhere inside the presentation window or clicking the zoom/magnify button on the lower right of the player. To reset the window, just click again anywhere in the presentation window, or click the zoom/magnify button now on the lower left of the player.
- Volume The volume controller is on the lower right of the player. When you click the button, a slider will appear.
Activity Menu
The Activity Menu is the set of buttons on the lower left of the player. You can close this menu by clicking the small green arrow. The features include:
- Program Info Click here for general information about the program.
- Thumbnails Click here to see thumbnails of the presentation. Clicking on the thumbnail will jump the presentation to that slide.
- Transcript If there is a transcript availalbe for the presentation, a "Transcript" button will be present here.
- Presenter Info Click here for general information about the presenter.
- Post Test Click here to advance to the post-test section of the activity. Usually, this button is not activated until the entire presentation has been viewed.
- Activity Extras If there are additional materials available in conjunction with the presentation, this button will enable viewing and downloading these materials.
Need More Help?
The most common problem encountered when trying to view the presentation is connection bandwidth. Be sure you have shut down other applications that take up connection speed, such as internet streaming radio or video. If you share your internet connection with other users, you may also be limited in bandwidth. You can test your system to see whether the required connection speed is available to you by clicking the Check Your System button at the top of this page.

Configure your browser to accept cookies:
Internet Explorer
On the Menu Bar, select Tools - Internet Options.
Select the Privacy tab on the Internet Options screen.
The Settings slider should be set to Medium (Default Level).
Select the Security tab on the Internet Options screen.
The Internet zone should be highlighted. If the Security level for this zone is set to Medium (Default Level), no other changes are necessary.
If the Security level is set to Custom, then click on the Custom Level button to open the Security Settings screen.
Scroll down the Security Settings screen to the Scripting category. Check that Active scripting is enabled.
Click OK to close the Security Settings screen.
Click Apply. Then, click OK to close the Internet Options screen.
Firefox
On the Menu Bar, select Tools - Options…
Click on the Privacy icon
Under the Cookies section, place a check next to "Accept cookies from sites".
Click on the Content icon.
Place a check next to "Enable JavaScript".
Click OK to save settings
Safari
On the Menu Bar, select Edit - Preferences….
Select Security from the list of options at the top of the Preferences… window.
On the Security screen next to Web Content, check the options Enable plug-ins, Enable Java and Enable JavaScript.
Under Accept Cookies, select either Only from sites you navigate to or Always.
Netscape
On the Menu Bar, select Edit - Preferences…
Select Privacy & Security - Cookies from the Category List.
On the Cookies screen, select either Enable cookies for the originating web site only, Enable cookies based on privacy settings, or Enable all cookies.
If Enable cookies based on privacy settings is selected:
Click on View.
Select low, medium, high or custom level of privacy.
If custom is selected for the level of privacy, under for First Party Cookies when a Site has no privacy policy, select Accept, Flag or Session.
Click OK to close the Privacy Settings screen.
Select Advanced from the Category List.
On the Advanced screen, check the following items: Enable Java.
Click OK to save settings.
